Happy Memorial Day!

Memorial DayHappy Memorial Day!

For those of us in the moving business, Memorial Day marks the official start of the busiest time of the year.

But, it’s much more important than just the start of the summer season.

Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor all of those who have died defending our lives and our country. And it is also a time to thank those who are still fighting for the lives we live every day.

Thank you to all of our veterans, active and inactive, old and new, for all that you have done and all that you still do.

Happy Memorial Day!

“Should I Tip My Movers?”

Do I tip my mover?I am happy to say that my friends have dubbed me their go to girl for moving questions. I am also happy to say that one of my close friends just purchased her very first home in North Carolina. I could hear the excitement in her voice as she rattled off all the details of the most major purchase of her lifetime. “It actually has a white picket fence, and a screened in porch, and a back deck, and three bedrooms, do I tip my movers?” Wait, what was that last part? It’s a very common question so I figured I’d take a moment to answer it for all of those wondering the same thing.

How to Move Your Grill

grillSummer is known for two things: the busy moving season and barbeques. Okay, maybe the busy moving season is just what my summers are about, but you know where I’m going with this. For families moving in the summer, packing and moving a barbeque grill could make or break later festivities. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as just loading it into the moving truck. In fact, if done incorrectly you could really be putting yourself and your movers in danger.

Should Renters get a Home Inspection?

home inspectionThis past weekend was a rainy one in my new city. I happen to love thunderstorms and using rainy days as an excuse to be extra lazy. As I settled myself onto my living room couch with a new book and my 60 pound lap dog, I noticed a “drip, drip, drip” coming from my kitchen. I had my fingers crossed that it was coming from the faucet, but to no avail. I walked in the kitchen to find a pretty sizeable puddle on the tile and a water stain above it on the ceiling. I immediately got frustrated. I JUST moved in here, how is there already such an issue? It got me thinking, should we have gotten a home inspection before moving in? Is that common for renters?
